Puerto Portals: The Riviera of the Balearics

    3 March 2026

Tucked into the southwestern coast just fifteen minutes from Palma, Puerto Portals has spent the last three decades quietly establishing itself as one of the Mediterranean's most sophisticated marina destinations. With berths capable of accommodating superyachts up to 80 metres, it draws an international clientele that values discretion as much as glamour.

The marina is more than a place to keep a boat. Its promenade hosts boutiques from Loro Piana, Hublot and Bonpoint alongside several of the island's finest restaurants — including the two-Michelin-starred Zaranda. Mornings begin with quiet espressos overlooking the gleaming hulls; evenings unfold across candlelit terraces and intimate cocktail bars.

The residential areas immediately surrounding the harbour — Portals Nous, Bendinat, and Costa d'en Blanes — offer some of Mallorca's most coveted addresses. Properties here typically combine sea views, mature gardens, and easy access to international schools, making the area a perennial favourite among families relocating from Northern Europe.

What distinguishes Puerto Portals from other glamorous Mediterranean ports is its sense of restraint. There is none of the high-season chaos of Saint-Tropez or Porto Cervo. Even at the height of summer, the rhythm remains civilised — a reflection, perhaps, of the residents who have chosen to call it home.
